This is the latest book that conservatives are outraged over and trying to ban from school libraries to keep their kids from reading it and finding out that there's more than two gender options, while at the same time that crowd is whining about how people not wanting to read the wizard books because the author is a bigot is a dangerous threat to free speech. . Next read is 'Heat Wave: A Social Autopsy of Disaster in Chicago' by @eric.klinenberg, about the deadly 1995 Chicago heatwave. I saw it recommended on Twitter the other week as an important heat wave-related read about how social safety nets break down with deadly consequences. . Next read. I find out about the books I read in all sorts of different places, and I found 'The Churches and Ethnic Ideology in the Rwandan Crises' because googling more information about Ncuti Gatwa, the new Doctor on #DoctorWho, I discovered that his father, Tharcisse Gatwa, is an academic who wrote extensively on the role of churches in the Rwandan genocide.
