Ryo cosplaying as an engineering student because the BL novels all said that was the best way to get a boy is actually the greatest single thing that I have ever seen in my life. @absolutebl THEY UNDERSTAND THE FANDOM TOO WELL. This is Thailand's answer to Absolute BL only less subtle.

Love Stage!! Episode 7 was DELIGHTFUL.  We had our second couple confirmed and a rather cute sequence of big brother trying to menace Ryu behind Anda’s back whilst being unable to resist being sweet with his own faen. 

Then a DOUBLE SEX SCENE - both good but Ryu/Anda felt more convincing and their chemistry is off the charts obviously.  Those brothers both like a neck grab don’t they?  

Turbo gives really good sex face (If you know what I mean and what I mean is that he looks like he’s definitely enjoying what’s going on).  

Note:  Kaownah looks massive in this - he’s clearly bulked up a bit since Tharntype and he’s a lot bigger than Turbo. In TT though he managed to appear much slighter and shorter then which worked for the Lhong character.  I just checked and he’s as tall as Tharn and only a cm or so off of Type but he slouches and ducks his head and acts, well, smaller.  Clever boy. 

I’m enjoying this so much more than I anticipated.  *happy sigh*

Between Ryo being a tiny obsessive sweetheart who never outgrew a childhood crush and Anda being a giant weirdo nerd... this show has everything! How dare they!

Anda's tiny growing crush and Ryo's heartbroken loss of his crush on the 'girl' is both darling and just the right kind of dramatic silly that I'm absolutely in love with all of this.

Anda is seriously just the tiniest, sweetest disaster gaybie ever who's just discovering who he is and he's so adorable. He's darling. I am lost to this boy. Absolutely lost.

I do love a disaster, so much.

And straight into episode 10 and Anda packing up his Ryo memories into a cardboard box and Ryo reliving the break up. Poor babies.

Friends continue to be supportive, Bank reaps the rewards of his manager’s perfidy and has The Guilt but still confesses his love to Anda. Hoo boy - do you not know ANYTHING about timing? Anyway we find out later that he was firmly friend zoned..

Tee moves from overprotective asshole brother to MVP of Team RyoAnda and attempts to rehabilitate and reunite and we get more homophobic bullying. Probably true to life and very depressing. But he makes a very good point to Anda - that he’s been afraid all his life and it was Ryo that gave him the courage to be happy.

Ryo’s planned livestream press conference and coming out is, of course, the catalyst. Bank confesses all in his own livestream, exposing his manager and taking responsibility. This gives Ryo the perfect chance to lie and deny everything but he is determined to tell the truth then give up his career saving the world one photoshoot at a time and go to the US ti join his family. Ah, another noble idiot willing to sacrifice all for love.

The whole love confession and kiss (and waist pull) before the press and fans is sweet and suddenly everyone’s supportive. Bank gets an offer from Ryo’s manager, and we get our boys doing another Happy Wedding ad but with Anda as a boy. We are gifted with shirtless Tee rocking out to his latest song and a final kiss on the beach between Ryo and Anda.

Slight and sweet with those extraordinary bed scenes adding more than a dash of heat and spice. Glad I watched it and I hope Kaownah and Turbo get more stuff to do.

I decided to binge eps 9 and 10 of Love Stage!! together rather than suffer the week long wait after our episode of doom.

In Ep 9 our lovers have been papped and Anda is building up to being a noble idiot. I love the way he worries about Ryo having to give up the work he’s ‘dedicated his life to’ as if he’s been saving drowning orphans or curing cancer rather than being a model. Actually the bits with his sponsors dropping him and homophonic bullying are rough.

Anda’s little friendship group steps up and is adorbs but Bank has definitely got a thing for Anda so he’s torn between feeling sympathy and wanting our boys to break up so he can step in.

As I suspected Banks’s manager is responsible for the picture leaks and couldn’t have been a more stereotypically villainess - the gleeful cackling was particularly evil. Sadly there also appears to be a correlation between fat and evil as she stuffs her face with cake while swearing vengeance after Bank pushes back on discovering her actions. At least we have Ryo’s manager being supportive and showing that not ALL women are bitches.

Of course, by the episode’s end we have Anda finishing things so that Ryo’s future won’t be ruined and there are tears and despair and sadness and I’m glad I didn’t watch this last week. The 113 missed calls from Ryo on Anda’s phone was a particularly wrenching touch as we go into our montage of memories and crying boys.
