the same thing happened to me, there is a mod however that will let you skip the starting sequence and go straight to the character creation menu- that's how i had to fix mine. let me know if it works for you!

I’ll try that if the reinstall fails to solve the problem. I’ve done a lot of adjusting with mods between my last session and this one and I think there might have been loose/broken files that caused it. If not, eh, cba to bother with it, so mod solution it is. :P
