“Aaaaah!! This thing’s huge, haha!”
It hadn’t taken Mutsunokami long to find his way to the port and the time it took him to become completely enamored with one of the ships docked there was even shorter. His eyes sparkled as he ran along the pier, doing his best to look over every bit of it.
“Sure doesn’t look like any warship I ever came across before... Is this one a’ those ‘galleons,’ maybe?...”
““Really, Sakamoto, you need to learn when to quit!”
“Hm?”
A commotion up the pier managed to catch the sword’s attention. The scene itself looked odd with a woman seemingly hanging in mid-air above the pair that had started bantering back and forth, but Mutsu was focused on the man in white that seemed almost apologetic as he spoke.
It was strange, but there was almost something that was familiar about the way he seemed to laugh in the face of the other sailor’s annoyance. He could only barely hear them, but he still found himself drawn to watching from a distance. Something itched at the back of his mind---had he heard the name Sakamoto?
No, that would be crazy. This place wasn’t anything like the locations he’d visited throughout history on his missions. He had to have misheard.
That’s what he was telling himself.
