He had never been in the aquarium before. At least not this one; the hours didn’t allow for it, and he hadn’t made an effort to sneak in yet. It was on his list of things to do, but... he had another idea of how he might get to see the place.
Not that that was his only motivation behind adopting his human form tonight.
It wasn’t every night that the girl emerged at this hour and stopped to feed him on her way home, but it had become regularly enough that Syde had gotten into the habit of stopping by to wait and check. It was worth the free snack and some welcome attention. Not everyone ventured to treat a stray dog so kindly, especially not one his size. He liked to think he didn’t look very menacing in his canine form - sometimes used that to his advantage, in fact - but that just wasn’t the case for some people. A large, black dog without any collar or apparent owner was enough to inspire caution in most.
But tonight, he sat on the curb in his usual spot, but with human knees bent, arms resting atop them. A to-go bag from a burger joint sat next to him. He felt excited, only a little nervous. But if she didn’t like him, or wasn’t there, he would simply eat the burger and fries himself and move on. Though this was a stunt Syde might pull even on a human, he felt reasonably confident the girl was not a human. She smelled like the sea. And not in the same way other humans who worked at an aquarium did.
