Idol concept: Illusionist has been teasing for a tough, fierce, and bold image for the group that is unlike anything else that has been produced by kaleidoscope records thus far. Barbie imagines that she can carefully construct herself to be the very image of the ‘badass maknae’ that they’ve bestowed upon her at the direction of the company. She knows that there are rumors floating around of her having the most ‘swag’ and the most ‘fierce’ confidence when performing and while she doesn’t quite know if that’s true, she likes to believe that she does in fact come off with a image of someone who is bold and risk taking. However, when it comes to her true persona, she is perhaps the one who changes the most. Away from the limelight of the stage and the screaming of fans, Barbie is just your average and everyday teenager. She has a big heart and an intense love her for group members that just can’t be rivaled. She enjoys hanging out with friends and making new ones, she also enjoys just being herself…a girl who is dorky, loud, and fun loving to a fault.

Strengths:
(+) rapping: though her original intent as a trainee was far from this, she’d always found she had a knack for matching the flow of whatever song she was practicing on and for fitting it to her unique flow. a lot of it comes from her emphasis on the wrong syllables of the language that is so popular these days, forgiven only because of the way she can enrapture even the loudest skeptic of her skills. it’s safe to say, this is the thing she’s practice the most on.
(+) dancing: although it was rapping that she found while she was training, it was dancing that was something that she’d known she possessed for a while. she’d been dancing since she was young, from varying crews to dance studios, barbie has seen her fair share of practice rooms and has yet to not dazzle people with her precise movements.
(+) variety: sometimes you learn that you just have a knack for somethings…and variety shows are definitely something she’s learned to keep strapped to her belt. she’s sure it has something to do with her random outbursts and her ability to see the joke and go for it at all costs, something that definitely could benefit on the long run and she’s happy to keep it up.
Weaknesses:
(-) singing: she’s not the worst singer in the industry, that’s definitely for sure. yet barbie also isn’t the best — her groupmates all have unique voices and a good head voice that she desperately wishes that she could perfect. her singing sounds a lot like her rapping and some people find this to be a problem, but her company has made use of her low tones to help harmonize with her fellow members instead of putting her on the spot.
(-) acting: considering all the rumors surrounding her debuting being thanks to her famous mother, she’s actually not all that good at acting. for her it’s inorganic and she can’t managed to portray emotions from paper to real life at all….which is why she’s probably debuting in a girl group rather than as an actress.
PERSONAL HISTORY
If you wondered how that 'talentless’ girl from the original survival show of kalediscope’s had managed to finally gear up for debut with illusionist, you wouldn’t be the first person to say it. If you had your suspicions that it was Barbie’s mother that had pulled strings in the industry so that she could be placed in the next girl group to debut, you wouldn’t be the only person who wrote about it on this forum or that forum. In fact, if you had any kind of rumor in your head about her at all, she wasn’t a stranger to it anymore than she was a stranger to the bright lights of fame.
From a very young age she had begun to experience the limelight an it had long since ceased to amaze her —- every gala, every party, every event. She’d seen her mother dressed in more expensive gowns than she could have counted on her fingers and toes ; but that’s just what happened when you lived your life as a star…which is exactly what her mother was. She’d was a veteran actress by the time that Barbie would debut, yet there were no praises left unsung for the beautiful woman who had gripped the world with her ability to go from seamlessly pretty to brute and uncouth. She had been in some many productions, in so many colors, that people often regarded her with the same starry eyes that she’d come to recognize.
To Barbie, however, she was just 'mom’.
She was the person who would try to tuck her in at night, even if she was bone tired from some drama or movie. She was the person who would brush her hair back and tell her that she was beautiful. She was the person who would tell Barbie to be thankful for all the things that she could have….because she had to work herself to the bone to raise them up from the lower class that her mother had always been apart of. It was a story that she would weave for her, the idea of poverties and tragedies unseen in her young life — telling her daughter that because of she could be whatever it was she wanted to be, that every opportunity was hers for the taking.
It was a lesson that she would take to heart, deciding that she was the one who wanted to follow in her mother’s footsteps as she auditioned for company after company, finally being recruited by Kalediscope after a few months of tredging from audition to audition. Once accepted into the training processes, she quickly realized that she hadn’t inherited the genes from her mother to have any kind of acting chops. It fueled the rumors that it was her mothers favor that had gotten her in the door in the first place —- something that frustrated the young girl and caused her to work as hard as she could to find a niche in a harsh world such as the one trainee’s lived.
The first test of that 'talent’ she tried to grab would be with the project to create the girl group Bliss —- however she was denied to participate in the program, much to her dismay, and the rumors went from just the trainee halls to the boards on naver. No one believed that she could do anything worth while, another famous baby who would only get things thanks to their parents; a rumor she wanted to dispell as soon as she could.
She began to work harder, improving upon the things that she knew could use work, and perfecting the things that she knew she was already good at. She was soon announced as one of the trainee’s that would be debuting under the group Illusionist. What was initally met with much resistance from netizens began to bubble as some excitement when she was able to release some dance practices and raps under the groups youtube channel – some quickly swayed to her side while others kept their rather negative stance on her and their ideas that she shouldn’t be allowed to debut with no 'talent.’
While she waits now to debut, she has garnered some positive attention with her work as a permenant member on the first season of 'Golden Tambourine’, and in 'Hit the Stage’ as an occasional member, now being known for being outlandish and for doing her best despite any of the circumstances — the nickname as 'Hardworking Barbie’ becoming a staple of the kind of idol that she was intent on becoming.
