We realized that we never really drew a full, illustrated reference for Ryububble and how they compare to Ryubliss.

So... here it is, finally! Hopefully an image format is easier to understand!

was Meringue Curlz actually a Ryububble of sort? she has no neck fluff either, but she has a patch of fur/moss on her back.

Yep! Although she kept her breed a secret, being one of the older Ryububbles.

She bore great resemblance to a Kelpie, after all.

Mascot Pine Tree here with a little PSA about Ryubliss!

Unless stated otherwise, all Ryubliss, Ryubean, and Ryububble originated on qwerty’s blog. It’s a Semi-Closed species, so you can either wait for adoptables to open, or enter a soon to come MYO contest to get one. 

They can be traded, gifted, or retired (returned to qwerty) once earned. Since these little dudes aren’t pay-to-make, they can’t be sold.

More Info on Ryubliss (Part 1)

There’s a whole bunch of design factors to cover regarding Ryubliss and their tiny bug counterparts, so in the meantime, here’s a few extra facts about those little dragon-dogs and their behavior.

A part two will come later involving more information on Ryubliss physical traits.

A major part of Ryubliss lore happens to be the origin of the Ryubliss and Ryubean. Basically, Ryubliss exist to safeguard and guide peaceful dreams through the universe in order to keep the flow of ideas going. 

As the majority of Ryubliss are only the size of a large dog (with half the physical strength of one) , they mostly only interact with children, taking the shape/theme of whatever the child closest to them (usually the one who dreamed them up) likes. 

As a result of this, Ryubliss can take a variety of basic shapes, their themes dependent on multiple factors. When guarding a child or group of children, Ryubliss usually live in forests, caverns, or abandoned buildings nearest to their kid, but a wild Ryubliss will often reside in an area related to their theme. For example, a water themed Ryubliss may thrive near the ocean or in a marsh. 

Depending on how strong the dream that created them was, Ryubliss themes can be represented in more literal ways. A Ryubliss spawned by a short, quickly forgotten dream may only possess the coloration of its theme, while another, generated by a heartfelt wish, may even smell of its origin. 

Ryubliss are very paternal/protective, and even a Ryubliss without a child to guard will protect one in danger. Ryubliss with Ryubean nymphs of their own will often adopt such a strong protective nature that it will continue to follow its former charges throughout their lives, entrusting its Ryubean young to the future generations of the former child. 

Permanent Guardian Ryubliss like these often fade away at their child’s side, as single dream Ryubliss only live as long as their dreamer, their corporeal form a direct result of the dreamer’s thoughts.

If the original dreamer of a single dream Ryubliss is mentally injured, the Ryubliss connected to them will mutate into a darker version of itself, often losing coherency and benevolent intent.

Epic Ryubliss are created when multiple dreams of the same theme fuse, spawning a Ryubliss so powerful that it skips Beanhood. Like others of their species, Epics are benevolent by nature, often traveling great lengths with the sole purpose of visiting children. These creatures rarely remain with the same child for long, afraid of outliving their charges because of their nigh immortal status.

Epic Ryubliss are slightly less cautious than other Ryubliss, due to their immortal and powerful nature. Always on the move, these beasts are very social and outgoing, usually seeking another magical being to keep them company on their travels.

Sometimes, a Ryubliss will be born of a fearful or negative dream, creating a Nightmare Ryubliss. Nightmares, while harmless to their friends, are volatile and erratic, dwelling in secluded areas out of fear of harming someone or something around them. Depending on the severity of the dreams that created it, a Nightmare may isolate itself for eternity.

Universally shy as a species, even the most reckless of Ryubliss attempt to avoid contact with people, though they will occasionally come to the aid of those in need. Nonetheless, Ryubliss are virtually invincible in physical means, able to quickly heal regular injuries. 

Fearing harm from other powerful creatures, Basic Ryubliss never interact with other magical beings, though their larval forms, Ryubean, are slightly less anxious.
