Strangeness & Charm
No matter what he focused on, Sarangerel couldn’t get Ryuu out of his head. It had been a few days since he had last seen him, since he had collected his pay and their exciting adventure had drawn to a close. The memory of the heat, of the tension, of the tingling in his lips came back to Sarangerel often as he worked around the Farrell house, strange daydreams putting him into a sort of absent-minded daze. He wanted to see him again, and he wanted to know more. About Ryuu, and the Ala Mhigans. He still wanted to understand what made the miqo’te so sympathetic towards them. But when could he see him again, and where?
The Coliseum! Sarangerel felt his spirits lift at the thought. Based on the tournament schedule, Ryuu was likely to have a fight that very day. It would be the perfect chance to see him, and catch him to speak with him afterwards.
After getting leave from his employer, Sarangerel immediately made his way towards the Coliseum. The warmth of excitement began to suffuse his chest, lighting his nerves. Why he was so drawn to the other man, he still didn’t fully understand, but he wasn’t afraid of how he felt, or of the attraction that came over him. That feeling when he had kissed him to silence him – it had been oddly pleasurable, even though it was brief. He knew it had to be attraction, at the very least. And even if the chance for a similar embrace never came again, he couldn’t forget the closeness of Ryuu, the heat of his breath and his gaze, the oddly entrancing anger of his words, the intriguing way he spoke and carried himself, his stormy emotions, and his undeniable charm. He wanted to be around him more, to travel with him and fight at his side, to go on adventures.
The loud cheers streaming from the arena eased away his thoughts, clearing his mind. He found a good spot to watch from one of the balconies. The moment Ryuu stepped into the ring, a smile rose to his lips. His heart began to pound, even before the fight started.
Once Ryuu had claimed his victory over his opponent, Sarangerel slipped outside. He leaned against the wall next to the side exit, awaiting the miqo’te’s arrival. Anticipation thrummed in his veins. When Ryuu finally stepped outside, Sarangerel pushed away from the wall. “It’s the future champion!” he said by way of greeting, smiling sunnily as he stood before the smaller man. For a moment, his gaze drifted to Ryuu’s lips before joining with his eyes. “You said you had things you would show me, yes?”
