    there’s no need answers as to where he is . he knew exactly where he’s being held , and by who . or should he say ‘ what ’ ---- is that offensive ? who cares . the dimly lit room is nothing but dramatic , adding to the sinister tone of the predictable confrontation . to the ill - informed others they would never see a horrifying discovery swivelling to face them , but to him this villain act is nothing but obvious .

    god , he wishes he has a pistol or something to shoot the back of that damn chair . turn around already , prick . he’s getting impatient . is the asshole even sitting there ? ...oh, shit .

    eyes quickly darting across the room , the previous campaign manager focuses on the metal clamps against his wrists as he attempts to struggle out of them . stupid , he knows , aware that his bonds wouldn’t just open but escape is pretty much the only thing on his mind right now .

    then by some luck he spots an unattended butter knife on the conference table . raising his feet he manages to get his tennis shoes angled just about enough under the table for him to use his body strength and pull himself forward . and close enough for his teeth to clench against the handle of the butter knife and start picking at his bonds that way .

Solheim headcanons

Solheim’s involvement in the Great War of Old, which led them to be wiped out, was not a victimless crime of a god gone rogue against the civilization that once worshiped them. There were many complex factors that led to the first example of the Starscourge being unleashed upon Eos and the Solheim of old, wiping them to the brink of extinction.

Solheim was still around when the other nations--Accordo, Lucis, Tenebrae, and Niflheim--were extant. To what progression in their development is unknown, but Solheim had greatly diminished by roughly the time they were coming into being or already were at an advanced crux in their civilizations.

When Solheim was still relatively on good standing, and before it began to atrophy, they were known to have worked in tandem with the Astrals and construct amazing feats of engineering and supernatural wonder together. The Disc of Cauthess was an example of this, as it was an enormous sun dial & cosmic calender tracker before Ifrit summoned a meteor that Titan caught, destroying most of the dial.

Those of the von Solheim Sultanate that were chosen by their Crystal were endowed with the ability to commune with the gods, and bore some abilities of the like the Oracle would come to possess, like the ability to commune with the gods, and eliminate the Starscourge to a personal extent, though it would slay anyone else. They were also known to be able to crystallize enormous swaths of land/themselves for offense & defensive purposes, wield magic that could influence whole weather systems, reanimate the dead/dead summons, and purify bodies of water/people--seeing as it’s only a shard today, its power is greatly diminished.

Solheim was extremely technologically advanced and on par with modern day Eos.

In the time of their atrophy, they began dabbling in darker practices such as human sacrifice, manipulating the sun to drain Eos of her power, in necromancy, and other dark magics--much in a dogged pursuit to acquire immortality.

Steyliff Grove is an example of this. It has symbology of Solheim abusing their once-beloved goddess’ power for their own nefarious purposes. Such as perverting her magic that imbues this dungeon (bridges reversing their own collapses, undead skeletons in their necromancy, catacombs] in attempts to gain immortality & power.

In turning from Eos, much of Solheim came to worship Etro in her place.

Costlemark Tower was something of Solheim’s own Tower of Babel. 

The Catalyst at the lowest depths of Costlemark was the original inspiration of the one in Gralea.

Costlemark would absorb Eos’ sunlight during the day, transfer it across Duscae, and imbue that power in the mythril wing at Cauthess, that was an access point into Pitioss. The Catalyst also doubled as a two-way mode of extraction; as Eos was sundered in Pitioss as punishment, Solheim attempted to keep her alive while simultaneously extracting her power.

The reason Pitioss has a statue was not only for symbology, but Solheim had the hope that they could one day contrive a means of reanimating Eos.

It was because of this that Ifrit--who had a powerful affinity to Eos--summoned meteors, turned his back on the gods & Solheim, all in an attempt to save her. 

While Solheim didn’t perfect the technique for magical armor/MT’s, their foundation is what led to its modern day successor.

The Starscourge, while begun by the Astrals & Solheim when Eos was dying in Pitioss, resulted from daemonic dragonflies being drawn to her light that infected her. When Ifrit returned to her body & went to cremate it that the Starscourge was unleashed on Solheim.
