Cancelled Experiment | Delta12
Dottore x gn!reader (if you squint real hard). Reader here is referred to a S-12 and uses they/them pronouns. I have a vague idea of a plot here so expect this to be a series of mini posts, in no particular order.
NOTE: I was a bit stuck on whether to write these in 2nd person POV or 3rd person POV with they/them pronouns for reader. Any thoughts on this? What do you guys prefer?

The room is cold, unbearably so. The table should feel icy, burning against bare skin in a way only ice can. And yet, there is no pain. Have they become immune to the cold?
"You're oddly quiet today, S-12."
Were they not always quiet? Only making noise when it was permitted? They tilt their head, blinking at the masked figure with genuine curiosity. Dottore does not answer the unspoken question.
Some moments pass in silence, only broken by the soft sound of Dottore's pen scraping across the paper. After mentally going through the events of this day, they remember something. They inhale and open their mouth... only to stop.
"Go on. You may speak."
Dottore does not look up. "There was one extra pill in my daily medication dosage this morning and now I... do not feel the cold as much as usual."
More silence. Then, the sound of a pen being placed down, followed by a sigh; it sounds irritated.
"Looks like I need to have a word with myself about unauthorised distribution of narcotics. Which one was it?"
The tone of his voice indicates impatience. Annoyance.
"I... believe it was Delta, sir..."
"Of course," Dottore sighs, even more annoyed now, and stands from his desk, turning his attention to the closest assistant. "You. Return S-12 back to their room. I have no use for them if they're under narcotics. And you..." he turns to look at the subject still half-naked on his operating table.
"I thought I made it clear you are not to take any form of medication that I have not personally approved of for your treatment."
S-12 would speak up and defend themselves by pointing out that they assumed the medication was approved since Delta had given it to them. Really, they didn't think one of Dottore's own segments would go against his orders or act behind his back. For their own safety, however, they keep their mouth shut and merely give a nod in response as the assistant helps them off the table.
"Take them away. We'll continue tomorrow."
