Yep! In the comics, the pink masked one is Hazel, and the blue masked one is Cha-Cha! They also genderbent pink mask (which I think might be the motivation behind the name swap) since tuatv’s MO seems to just be turning various male characters into beautiful women for some blessed reason.

I don't know if you ever answered this, since I can't find it right now: why is five the only hargreeves child without a 'proper' name?

In the comics, it’s because he ran away before any of them were given proper names! In the show it’s less clear, since it’s made obvious the others have names before he runs away (IE his calling out “vanya! ben!” once he gets stuck in the future). I’ve seen people posit that in the show either their naming was staggered, or five was just being a delightful brat per usual and didn’t want a name.

thank you for answering that quickly! from what i get from the comics you posted, both are male in the comics. i think they have a great dynamic on screen, can't wait to get the comics!! and may i also add that you two are my fav blog about tua so far, since you really seem to know everything and are so passionate to share. you are doing a great job in getting people to look further than the tv show.

Yep, both are male in the comics! And personally, I much prefer their interpersonal dynamic in the comics! They’re best friends who care deeply about each other and no one else, so for me to go from that crazy ride or die relationship to *gestures at their breakup arc in the show* really disappointed me, lol. I’m greedy and I want the best of both worlds, their awesome show designs and their awesome comics friendship!

And thank you! That really makes me happy. I’m a huge fan of the medium of comics and graphic novels in general, TUA just happens to be my fave, so anytime I can get anyone to give comics a try delights me!
