she's homesick , she thinks . an odd thing , given that they're sitting in their living room right now but the space rings hollow , rings false . something is missing without their parents && their home no longer feels that way [ ... ] no longer feels real . no longer feels theirs . she wonders if she'll have time to get used to this , for the homesickness in her bones , filling her lungs with a thick , syrupy substance to fade away before she drowns , or if she'll wake up to their parents downstairs before it gets to that point .
