THE JOKE BACK WHEN JAMIE WAS STILL ROAMING THESE HALLS was that every day at xavier’s was halloween. he remembers a boy made of stone and a girl with a rainbow tongue. he remembers a kid that sat behind him with feline eyes. he remembers this was the place that made them feel safe. made him feel safe. the party going on now isn’t about throwing on a costume and getting wasted — it’s a message to these kids, a reminder that they can do what everybody else can. they have the gene but they’re human. and humans make a big freaking deal out of halloween. ❝has anybody told you yet that you’re the hottest girl in the room?❞ jamie slides up behind hal in greeting and whispers these words into her ear. her back is pressed to his chest, a venetian mask covering part of his face. ❝because if they have, i’ll kill them.❞ (( @securcity ))
