I was today years old when I realized that the two arrow quivers A.rjuna has are not a random aesthetic liberty the designer took but come from his Epic as well-
Basically the origins of it come from a time where Agni ( The god of fire ) wanted to devour the forest of K.handavaprastha to get back his power and the such- it is in this point that Arju and K.rishna are in the forest when they are approached by a “hungry person” to whom they agree to help satisfy his hunger. Turns out this person later reveals himself to be A.gni ( Again, the god of fire mentioned at the begining ), who’s hunger can only be sated by consuming the entire forest- but he hasn’t been able to do so bc I.ndra ( who is a protector of the forest ) sent down rains to quench the fire each time he tried to consume the forest. Long story short, A.rju and K.rishna agree to help him ( for reasons I do not fully understand ), yet before doing so, A.rju asks Agni to give him a bow that would suit his strength and skill, so A.gni requests V.aruna to bless Arju and K.rishna with the weapons they asked for, and that’s when V.aruna gives Arju his famous G.andiva bow + two special quivers that provide a never-ending supply of arrows, so that´s why he has two (2)- and that’s why he can shoot as many arrows as he wants- so that’s it
