this whole thing feels suspiciously like a booty call...if they were anything more than friends.

at the present time, as jihoon walks his ass towards woojin’s teammate’s apartment, he knows that they’re everything but anything romantic. and that’s fine--because he’d willingly re-dress himself at 3am just so he can pick woojin up and walk him back to the dorms if it meant that woojin got home safe. jihoon would go out of his way to make time for woojin because he’s the most comfortable around him; there’s no need for fronting or strained smiles because woojin respects the way he...operates.

jihoon would willingly stuff his damn more-than-friends feelings in a box and hide them under a bed to gather dust if it meant that he could keep woojin in his life without the awkwardness of a rejected confession.

when he reaches the street in front of daniel’s apartment, he doesn’t even need to look for woojin. the guy’s already outside with a bunch of his teammates and friends alike, some of them smoking, some of them being public nuisances at 3:24am, and others just outside for the air and the company. woojin, though? he’s always the center of attention, the most well-liked guy in a room, and jihoon can’t help but smile seeing the familiar cut of his shoulders (even if he should be grumpy).

“your grammar sucks seven shots in.” he drawls, voice lower than usual with sleep. waving at a few of the guys he recognizes, jihoon snuggles down into his sweatshirt because he’s cold, and because he’s...a little uncomfortable. there’s a reason why he never comes to these parties even though the offer is usually extended.

woojin is clearly inebriated, so before he can wobble, jihoon has a hand at woojin’s waist, holding him tightly. “hey--the campus bus stopped, but i can walk you home. or we could call a taxi?” skinship is normal among their friend circles, but jihoon wonders if any of them can tell that jihoon is always just a tad gentler with woojin than he is with his other friends. he leans in a little closer, lips just shy of woojin’s cheek, and mutters--”you owe me one.”

These two most recent pages are way more stylized with me applying all the things I’ve learned since I started this journey back in June of 2020! I’m very proud of what I accomplished with this. I have 2 more pages to go until I finish this prologue and reboot this project with the REAL first chapter.
