So I made the cut in the very last 30 seconds, literally, of Five0’s Series Finale ... well .. at least my profile😜 We filmed this airplane goodbye scene on 2/24th ... a few days before anyone knew the show was going to be cancelled...we just thought Alex wasn’t coming back and the show would run without him for at least another year or two. Sitting across Alex & Michelle was like “somebody pinch me please ‘cause this can’t be real”...for me!
Marc & I watched the finale last night with tears streaming down our faces 😔Just happy I got to be a part of the Five0 Ohana in a small way #hawaiifive0 #h50 #marcamcclellan

Mantegna and his Criminal Minds co-star Esai Morales took part in a Reddit AMA, and they were about as unironically forthcoming as anyone has ever been for an AMA. One questioner brought up former star Mandy Patinkin having left the show due to its violent content, and asked if either of the actors had ever been heavily affected by an episode. Here’s how Mantegna responded, making it clear he wasn’t speaking for Patinkin as he did so.
“None of it bothers me, because there are real men and women who do this every day. And so for me to be bothered by it is almost disrespectful for these people. And I’m sorry they have to do this work, but I think it’s important to show people the way it happens, because this is a real organization, and this is what they deal with every day. I deal with it on a pretend basis. So no, it doesn’t bother me.”
“On a lot of shows,” says Criminal Minds’ production designer Vincent Jefferds, “there are permanent sets, then they add an apartment or a parent’s place. The writers write to those sets, and there’s not much more to build.” But while every episode of Criminal Minds begins in the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit in Quantico, Va., every ghoulish crime takes its team of profilers to a different state, a different crime scene and a different UnSub’s (unidentified subject’s) hideout, meaning this show’s designers, artists and construction crews never stop building. Though Minds is filmed entirely in Los Angeles, “the challenge is to create the feel that you’re in a new place every week.” Here’s how these masters of disaster keep killing it.
Jack Kerouac had this quote that it took him three weeks to write On The Road but seven years to live. Talk to me about Criminal Minds and the weaving of fact and fiction in your storytelling.
A couple months after I had my bone marrow transplant, I got a call. I was in isolation at my home. I was in and out of the hospital, I think it was two months after my transplant and I was living in a clean environment in my home and that meant no other human beings could come in because I couldn’t survive anybody else’s germs. So i got a call from a buddy of mine who said ‘hey, I’m taking this actor around and he wanted to talk to profilers but the guy said isn’t there anyone around here with any personality?’ and he said ‘Would you mind talking to this actor?’ And I said ‘You can’t come to my house but I can meet you if I wear gloves and a mask. I’m just not allowed to have contact with humans at this point, I still don’t have a good, functioning immune system. ‘And he said fine and so we met at a bagel shop and Mandy Patinkin walks up to me and he goes ‘HI, I’m Mandy Patinkin,’ and I go ‘Of course you’re Mandy Patinkin, you think I’m stupid?’
And he laughed and you know I just felt like breaking the ice because I felt like a jerk with all this stuff on, but he said ‘Tell me your worst case and your best case.’
