Just some of my thoughts on relationships at the end of S2 Part 1: Malec had a touching conclusion as always, finally confessing their love for each other verbally. I don't have much to say about them, though I do think it's touching that Madzie is developing relationships with them both (she keeps Alec away from the fighting, and is willing to trust Magnus) and I wonder if it's foreshadowing an arc where they care for her. Simon and Clary are clearly very happy when they discover he's now a Daylighter, and I think it's fairly obvious that they love each other in some way. It's stated clearly that he thinks of her in a romantic sense, but while she's expressed the same sentiments, I'm curious as to what will develop. Similar to Will postponing his post-curse confession to Tessa, I don't see Jace throwing a curve ball in just yet... But I do think that we'll be looking at endgame Clace. I do think Raphael loves Isabelle but he has a fundamental misunderstanding of how healthy relationships of ANY sort work, besides maybe the fatherly model Magnus has given him. I'm glad that Isabelle chose to walk away from him because she really needs time to heal and sort out her own feelings and priorities as well as mend fences with family and friends. Raphael needs to regroup with his Clan, and also do some serious thinking about what has happened and what he's going to do moving forward, too. I don't know if I'd ever want to see them as a concrete romantic relationship but if that's what we end up with, I would want to see a lot of serious discussion and development first.
