█ ║► the issue with fandom characterization is that it is entirely based on popularity and really old and tired tropes, or self-insert qualities and opinions.

having fandom characterizations is always going to be a double-edged sword, because fans of the character are open to write the character and build on them, but at the same time, said writings are dependent on the opinions and styles of an individual which can openly divulge from the canon, such as people ignoring tracer’s sexuality.

there’s nothing we can do about it because everyone has the right to express themselves when writing characters, and sometimes those characters are bad people, they do have a right to express this no matter how wrong.

all we can do is call out the muns who openly express negative aspects like paedophilia, incest, abuse, rape and racism etc. outside of the character.
