I’m sorry but the split second grin we see on Jack’s face as Belle runs to him at the docks? What I wouldn’t give to know that exactly what was going through this man’s head. I mean he was clearly elated.

He had chosen not to get on the boat before he knew Belle had come after him. He was fully prepared to suffer and watch her marry and find happiness with someone else because even if he wasn’t with her he couldn’t stand to not see her again and not know how she was doing, if she was alive or dead. And then not only did Belle not leave him, not only did she choose him and a future together, but she was willing to come after him if he had left her. This boy who has been left and let down time and time again was not only being chosen but actively wanted. And I’m sure after he registered that, he was thanking everything in the universe that he did not get on that ship.
