Kara's identity reveal as it happened in the show didn't make sense. Just a season before she saw a version of reality where her family and coworkers were targeted when people knew who she was.Even if the superfriends said they'd be ok with it, they'll take precautions etc it would still have to be long thoughtful considerations and lengthy conversations. Maybe if this was a more obvious subplot of the season it would have made some sense.I just think the writers didn't know how to end the show
Exactly. We didn't really see Kara struggle with her dual identity until the episode where she quit CatCo, and even that seemed more like a time commitment issue and the question of whether or not Kara trusted her team to manage the threat on their own.
I would have much rather seen Kara take a step back from her role as National City's defender, letting the Superfriends take on more of the work. She's had the world on her shoulders for so long, and she never really made a point to lean on them. Especially during the Nyxly and Lex arc in S6, which she saw as her fault and them as her own personal villains (which I also have issues with, as Lex should have remained Lena's villain, not Kara's).
A nice ending would have been Kara going to Argo for a vacation. Taking some time to heal and focus on self care and reconnecting with her parents would have been a nice personal ending for her. She could have even taken a friend along with her for company (*cough*Lena*cough*) so that she wasn't just squirreling off on her own and isolating from the family she's built for herself.
That would feel like a more organic ending based on the content we got in S6. The identity reveal just isn't supported by canon.
