just the look tommy gave arthur when arthur said he couldn’t do it.
the creaking in the background during the funeral speech of tommy’s.
…again peaceful, good, down the river. similar promise as he did after grace died.
tommy’s way of coping with loss, he can’t just sit still and wallow in it, he has to go, has to do something it (though it clearly doesn’t work).
look like i was wrong about the forest scene, the man he shot isn’t johnny dogs, just a member of the boswell family (but there’s still that picture of the bar fight)
not a fan of the music this episode, doesn’t fit very well, sort of brings you out of it (but i don’t know, maybe it’s intentional?)
holy shit!!!!!! the duke shelby is not john’s kid but tommy’s!
lolololol esme after that asking for more gold. though could she stop him from taking duke with him if he wanted to?
tommy talking about just casually stepping onto ‘another boat’ as if he can go on/move on just like that. while technically he’s shown that he can, it’s not that simple.
love the brother bonding. the typical conversation between brothers they never really have.
tommy’s drinking again. ruby one loss too many.
‘because you let me win. you wanted me to win. you wanted me to win ever since.’
jdhfgdjgjfgjdn obsessed with this. sort of gives more depth to the question that’s always sort of floating around, not having a full, complete or completely satisfied answer: why is tommy in charge and not arthur as the eldest? (not just skills, competency, not wanting to on arthur’s part)
‘just a few more yards left to go.’
tommy how are you going to change the world when you’ve started drinking again?
charles saying ‘she holds onto me.’ though it indicates he’s referring to lizzie, what if he’s referring to ruby?
saying that you’re ok, doesn’t make it so.
captain swing probably like: what the fuck am doing here? while also she seems the only one genuine in her condolences/about mourning/grief.
loved the parallels/edit of ada, arthur and lizzie.
wouldn’t it be something if that was ruby’s favourite horse?
all this camera panning at the table meeting scene, unnerving scene and different tone to the rest.
karl still thinking and talking the same. not surprised. ada’s comeback, amazing. karl trying to belong but not really belonging anywhere (different upbringing/schooling than his parents, yet not the same as his fellow students).
ruby’s chair.
same typewriter that he bought lizzie fdkgkdgkgn
maybe tommy’s sick? or charles? or maybe lizzie?
RUBY’S CHAIR.
not yet. change how?
was that michael? WAIT, was that mosley?
gina possibly going to spy for tommy, interesting.
the whole ‘I will know.’
this is more like season 5 gina.
the fly and tommy staring at it. something about death/close to death/it clinging to him (lingering death of ruby’s and possibly the impeding/impending of his own).
dkjghkdghkdjgnkdfn ANEURNIN BARNARD.
wait…what?
his personal doctor. who we’ve probably never seen because when does tommy ever go to the doctor? (unless he has no choice)
so he got the TB bacteria from ruby.
explanation for seizures/hallucinations, etc. YES.
the enemy he can’t defeat isn’t a person.
‘my accountant was just leaving’ - so as usual, hiding what’s wrong with him from the people he loves.
‘not a devil, just an ordinary mortal man.’ so he’d given up on becoming god, then tried to be the devil, but now realises he is what he is, and can’t change that.
love polly’s prediction again at the end. as well as grace’s breath (so far it just seemed not fitting very well, but this time it hits different/good)
about the grace breath thing: goes all back to that interview/article on the official peaky blinders website (i think?) about grace in season 5 now associated with the black horse, not the white, no longer good but evil, an evil spirit/ghost.
and this breath sort of feels/visualizes as grace digging her claws deeper/tightening her hold to finally rip him away.
edit:
realized I misunderstood the ‘stepping onto another boat’ thing. the members of the boswell family he killed are in the boat he’s stepping off of, so does he mean by this and ‘good’ that he’ll no longer kill? or is promising not to die or kill himself?
