note: this was meant to be posted on christmas but i didn’t have time so.. happy boxing day ;u; and merry late christmas everyone!
the lights from each house of your neighbourhood shone, the laughter of the children filled the air, christmas songs were blasting and all were to cheer. tomorrow was christmas and all you wanted to do is spend it with your boyfriend, shownu. he was often occupied with his schedules so a few days with him, especially during the warmth of the festive season was more than you could ask for.
the night of christmas eve includes sitting by the fire and cuddling on the couch while a christmas movie is played in the background. although you and shownu were obviously not paying attention to the movie and more so each other, it was comforting and a great bonding time. alas, the finally waited 12am struck on the clock. shownu softly spoke first, "merry christmas, sweetie." but you were too engulfed in his warmth and arms, you forgot to reply. it was the cheer of the children, the sudden start of fireworks, the yells of merry christmas that made you realise shownu was talking to you. "merry christmas to you too! i'm your present," you answer back. he chuckles and insists that you go to sleep now. in his arms.
you wake up to a slightly panicking shownu. it's been a while since he slept cuddling with you so he didn't know how to get up for a shower, how to wake you up without bothering you and hurting you. you laugh a little, getting up so he can get ready before flopping down back on the couch to sleep a little more. soon enough, you're awoken again by a refreshed shownu, smiling and pecking your forehead with a kiss as a small present. you groan a little but he picks you up bridal style to the bathroom with a small giggle. he's getting breakfast ready whilst you're getting yourself ready.
you're all dolled up and the aura of homemade breakfast leads you to the dining table. he proposes to go on a small christmas date with you; of course you couldn't reject the cute, cuddly boyfriend of yours. and within half an hour, you and shownu were walking hand in hand towards the cute little cafe that had so many memories from the two of you. the time you made him laugh so hard he started crying, the time he told you secrets about the members, the time you saw him cry for the first time, so many little things.
you walked around the petite town, an ice skating rink. although your knowledge on ice skating isn't the best, and you didn't really know how to ice skate either but you had shownu; it wasn't much of a worry. you pull him towards the ice skating rink and he laughs a bit - a little nervous. despite his nervousness, he pays for the rink and as you're putting on your skates, shownu speaks slowly, "you know.. i don't know how to skate that well.. right?"
"don't worry.. i don't either! we can make fun of ourselves."
you step onto the ice rink and almost immediately, you wobble; instinctually grabbing onto the handle bars on the edge of the rink and shownu instinctually holds onto your waist. his gesture made you blush, but it was too cold for him to notice. shownu, himself was a natural at ice skating. you didn't know how, but he seemed like he had been ice skating since a young age. he was always talented in everything and you loved that about him. eventually you had gotten the hang of it, but continued holding on shownu's hand tightly. but hey! it wasn't you to blame, he constantly told you to hold his hand so you didn't fall. he loved you too much that if you fell, it would hurt him more than it would hurt you.
you told him that you can ice skate now, and he doesn't have to worry but the moment the grasp between both of your hands opened, you fell instantly - making shownu skate towards you to try to prevent you from falling but concluded as you two were both on the ground; laughing at each other's silliness.
at the end of messing around at an ice skating rink, at the end of all the laughter shared between you two, at the end of all the hugging and hand holding - you and shownu were hungry and decided to go to a little vintage donut-cafe. shownu buys two donuts and two hot chocolates. you're both laughing at each other's jokes and stories, time flying by fast. before you know it, it was almost night time and shownu pulls out a small wrapped box. "merry christmas!" he cheers, handing over the box carefully; hoping that you would like his gift.
his eyes are going left and right, as you're unwrapping the present, opening the box and seeing shownu light up in the corner of your eye. he was satisfied with your reaction. your eyes brighten seeing two rings in the box. "promise rings! promise me that you'll be with me forever?" you laugh at his cheesiness.
it's dark outside and snow is falling down gracefully. the source of light there is are the christmas lights, fireworks and street lamps. the area is well lit. shownu is mesmerised by the snow and how unique it is. underneath the twinkling stars, the snow, the trees that were decorated with white lights - shownu kissed you. a soft, passionate kiss that he had poured all his love for you in. you didn't want to pull away, so he did first. he smiles at your flustered face before saying, "look at how pretty the scenery around us is... but it’s not as pretty as you."
