One of the oldest criticisms of Judaism and Jews is that we are a lazy people. In the ancient world, everyone lived on a 24/7 work schedule. There were no weekends, only a few major religious holidays, depending on the religion. That applied to everyone, from the Pharaoh to the lowliest serf: everyone had a job to do, and they worked at…

GAP YEAR
Where I am living, the concept of taking a year off before entering University is unheard of and mostly it is better to finish and get a degree as soon as possible so that you could start your career journey too. When I heard the concept of Gap Year or Sabbatical Year, I thought that well maybe that’s what I need to do so that I could surely choose a major I want to focus on at the University. Alas, I didn’t have the luxury to have it then.
I done my graduation ceremony in June, so It will be about a year since I’ve been graduating and haven’t get a job till now. The time spent on job hunting seems to be the toughest one, as for the biggest part is spent on waiting to be called while also need to keep applying even though We haven’t heard any news yet.
During this 1 year, I am glad to ever have all of this time on my own. I learn a lot about myself, and is working to be better bit by bit, I learn how to love myself and cherish myself by being gentle warrior, I get to know things that I really love, I get to try new things I’ve been curious to do, I learn to compromise with others, and I really came to be more grateful for things & life, and how it makes everything turned out far better than before. I get my closure of the grief I’ve been carrying for. I learn again to enjoy every process, to lean on God, and how everything seems beautifully and calmly move along.
First Anniversary of my "Sabbatical" Year
First Anniversary of my “Sabbatical” Year
A year ago today, I took off from Toronto, Canada, and started my so-called sabbatical year. It has been a very rewarding experience full of ups and downs, and I am grateful for everyone of you who has motivated me along the way. This trip would not have been possible without your support. I used to question myself if I was wasting time but not anymore. My experiences living abroad has enriched…

Sighted Moon 1-5-16
Shalom! We have decided to get listeners just like you to join us and share their testimonies regarding the Sabbatical and Jubilee years. This week we had Jacob Hoover, who shared his journey of providing for his family and trusting Yehovah for His provision. It was truly an awesome show. The most amazing thing is that Jacob was saying the same things that we have been saying, and we didn’t give…
