　　　　"I’d say did a little more than survive," Ahsoka replied with a small smirk as her lightsabers deactivated with a zip. She looked over the carnage a moment, her heart sinking a little bit at the destruction. In her younger years, she’d been so eager to defeat the bad guys, the separatists, she hadn’t taken a moment to really think about the imprint left behind from their battles. Or maybe she hadn’t let herself think about it.

　　　　She shook herself from the feeling before turning back to Bo-Katan. She looked a little more serious and sincere now, though. “Thanks for the bail out all the same.”

                            HER   HEAD   WAS   TILTED,   LEGS   PROPPED   up   on   the   table   they   sat   at.   She   made   herself   comfortable   no   matter   where   they   were.   Despite   the   comfort   she   pulled   from   her   position,   personal   situations   always   put   her   on   edge.   She   wasn’t   so   sure   what   she   could   say   to   the   other   female,   and   wasn’t   so   sure   how   to   comfort   her.   Life   struck   her   down   at   a   young   age,   and   what   she   had   to   do   was   “toughen   up”.   So,   Fennec   did.   Now   she   was   a   feared   assassin   and   bounty   hunter.   Perhaps   something   not   to   be   proud   of,   but   it   was   a   title   for   others   to   leave   her   alone.

           AFTER   A   MINUTE   OR   TWO,   FENNEC   decided   to   take   a   bite.   She   leaned   forward,   removing   her   legs   from   the   table.      Her   drink   was   off   to   the   side,   and   a   hand   reached   to   grab   it.   Chocolate   hues   looked   down   into   her   glass   for   a   moment,   wondering   what   she   wanted   to   say,   or   how   to   say   it,   “   Well,   is   it?   Do   you   believe   in   that?   ”

                          HE   LISTENSES   LIKE   HE   ALWAYS   HAD   before,   listening   to   the   troubles   of   others   around   him.   No,   Cobb   didn’t   mind   it.   It   was   a   way   to   help   those   who   needed   it,   and   a   good   way   to   understand   strangers.   This   woman   before   him   had   her   troubles,   and   had   something   in   common   with   many   in   the   galaxy.   The   Empire   had   ruined   so   much,   touched   the   lives   of   everyone.   Cobb   had   the   scars   to   prove   it.   No   doubt   she   did   too.

              THE   MARSHAL   LEANED   BACK,   SPINE   POPPED   with   his   slight   movement,   and   a   sigh   left   his   lips,   “   Ya   know,   trouble   times   fell   upon   many   through   the   galaxy.   It’s   no   shock,   little   lady,   ”   exhausted   eyes   shifted   towards   her,   “   What   happened   to   your   people   is   unfortunate,   ”   the   two   different   Mandalorians   were   a   bit   complicated,   and   in   all   honesty,   he   didn’t   care,   “   But,   you   can’t   keep   in   the   past   like   that.   You   were   wronged.   I   was   wronged,   but   you   have   to   go   back   to   your   people.   Fight   for   ‘em,   sure,   but   you   are   leavin’   to   just   fight...   ”   he   shrugged,   “   I   think   ya   miss   the   point   of   the   realness   of   a   leader.   ”

               COBB   COULD   ONLY   SPEAK   ON   HIS   own   experiences,   but   perhaps   she   could   take   something   from   it,   “   This...   weapon   you   speak   of...   be   somethin’   without   it.   I   understand   the   importance   of   it,   trust   me,   I   do.   However,   with   what   ya   say   your   people   have   been   through...   why   let   that   hold   ya   back?   ”

    The Mandalorian’s words made Anakin look her way. “Really?” He asked. “Maybe you’re just trusting the wrong people?” Anakin said raising his eyebrows. “Trust is...something complicated. I have a difficult time trusting people. Even the people I see every day.” The Jedi looked at Bo Katan. 

   “You miss her...” Anakin said after a few beats. “Your sister...forgive me. I can sense the loss.” He had also sensed it in his Master. Obi-Wan would talk about it, but Anakin knew. “I am sorry for your loss. I didn’t know her very well but the few time I met her she was impressive. A strong leader.” He looked down.

　　　　"Sure, I don't mind," Ahsoka replied, offering a friendly but tight smile. It wasn't entirely the adrenaline or shock, though, that did play a part. She'd been through a lot more than most her age, and her Jedi training helped her cope with the worst of it. "I've just been thinking about the Clone Wars. My old master, the clones. In some ways, I miss those days. Not the death and destruction, but the bonding we all did when there was a pause in the fighting."

　　　　Ahsoka didn't know what to expect when they were reunited, but an embrace certainly was not on the list if she were to have one. She honestly didn't think the Mando was the type. The Togruta Jedi didn't mind it, though, and caught the faint sound of a sigh from the Mandalorian. Surprise finally faded into a soft smile, returning the embrace slightly.

　　　　"Didn't take you for the sentimental type," she couldn't help but tease a little.

"I'll give you a merciful death."

She may not have been Dooku's apprentice any longer, but that wouldn't stop her from putting an end to a problem that was now plaguing her. The life of a bounty hunter wasn't easy nor was it cheap. If she wanted to survive she would need to successfully bring in the bounties. It hadn't been easy but she was making do. And this? While it wasn't a bounty it was a problem. One she hoped might ring in a little extra money. She'd heard the rumours and figured if she turned one over to the Separatists they might pay something for her. And if not? Ventress knew it would at least make her feel better. She was still struggling after the last time her former master tried to kill her and she needed something to remind her she was still as good as she used to be. "Unless you'd prefer I hand you over to the Separatists."
