Snow crunching beneath her boots, Aerith had forgone the chance to sit and rest to just marvel a little and the bit of winter wonder around them. She had never seen snow before, and even if the landscape was barren and desolate, it was still beautiful to her with that layer of pure white undisturbed snow. She was sorely tempted to just go and play in the snow a little, but getting all cold and wet for a bit of short lived fun wasn’t appealing.
Aerith turned to him, her hands clasping behind her back as she smiled at his response. He’d been pretty quiet on their journey, and since he’d been kind enough to let her tag along, she respected that and filled up the silence with her own chatter.
“Where I’m from, it hardly ever rains, let alone snows, so this is my first time,” she said. A light snow began to fall. Her smile brightened and she held out her arms as if to catch it. She stuck out her tongue to try and catch a few flakes, and laughed at herself when she managed it.
“It’s prettier than I imagined...”
