Thank you @lunarreaper12 for the chance to draw your boi <3
So we remember Alabaster right?
We remember he’s a Nightmare alternate, right? Which would mean he would have a brother?
>w>
It time
It’s Sable! The by far sweeter of the two brothers, the Dark Guardian of Positivity himself! As with all of my lovelies, you can of course send in asks to him or about him!
Yknow something I realized that was a major difference between Sable and Dream? Dream was turned to stone for... what was it, 500 years? That actually didn’t happen with Sable!
Sable was injured by Alabaster when they were young, yes, but he was left for dead, not turned to stone. Why is that, you may ask?
Because Alabaster wasn’t corrupted when he and Sable fought.
Yep, that’s right, Alabaster truly was an Alabastard from the start. I may make another post about why he did it at a later date, but for now, we talk about Sable.
So why, you may ask, is Sable not being turned to stone such a significant difference? Well, that’s simple... It’s because Dream, when he was awoken from his stone prison, likely hadn’t aged since then (I don’t know the official canon, but that’s my headcanon for canon Dream). This means his mental development was stopped, and so that would mean that the Dream we know is a sort of “imperfect” version! He’s not a full guardian! He was rushed into his role because of the apple incident, and likely had little to no time to learn anything. Of course our Underverse Dream is a badass, but realistically... wouldn’t canon Dream be... I dunno, weaker? Or at least less skilled.
That’s what I believe the big difference between Sable and Dream is. Sable has grown since his “apple incident”, he’s learned and fought and trained for those 500 years, he’s basically what you would imagine a fully grown Dream to be! Dream may be an adult, but he’s far from the Guardian he could be!
Sable has already taken that time to become a true Guardian. While his and Dream’s goals ultimately are the same, Sable, I believe, is closer to achieving that goal.
I'm curious about Sable!Dream. What are his abilities? Does he ever hope he and Alabaster could make up for the past(even if it's only a passing hope)? And, what had happened to bring them to a fight where Alabaster had nearly killed him?
(This could be answered by Sable himself, if he's willing to. I'm sure those days were painful, so it's understandable if he doesn't want to answer)
"Oh? A question for me?"
"Well my abilities are rather simple, I am the guardian of positivity after all. You'll find my magic is fairly similar to those in a similar role."
"My magic, however, takes on a flame-like appearance. I can control it's temperature as well. I don't have a weapon, but I am capable of conjuring weaponry using my magic as well. I mostly use swords if I do this."
"As for my brother...."
"When I was younger I had hope but... I do not believe he and I can ever go back to how things were."
"Our fight was over his desire for power. He believed he was not enough as he was, and no amount of my reassurances or offers to assist him were enough for him. Eventually we... It was..."
He seems to be struggling...
"...It doesn't matter anymore."
