TALKING ABOUT MY LYNIAN HUNTER AGAIN….
Alright so his species has a name now!! They’re called Moggi, derived from Moggie, meaning cat 👍. I chose this because the other feliform lynian races all have names based on different words for cat! Grimalkyne comes from Grimalkin/Greymalkin, Felyne obviously comes from Feline, Melynx contains the word Lynx, and I wanted to keep with the theme :)) But it also sounds like the names of certain small monsters, such as Jaggi, Baggi, and Wroggi! This is purposeful, because Moggi are a very elusive race and upon the first sighting, researchers mistook a small hunting group for a new species of small monster.
Moggis have just as wide a range of appearances as Felynes, though they do have a few traits that set them apart from their smaller counterparts! For one, they are significantly larger, standing from just under four feet at the smallest to a bit over five feet at the largest. They also tend to have bodies stronger than their size would suggest, powerful paws, and incredible jumping ability.
Anyway back to my Lynian hunter himself, his name is now Sable! Or at least, that’s what he introduces himself as. He was asked if that was his real name and he never responded.
Sable is on the larger side for a Moggi, being about 5’2 1/2 or 5’3. He largely resembles a Cougar (Puma Concolor), though he does have traits that resemble those of a Serval(Leptailurus Serval), such as black spotting across his back, legs, and forearms, long legs(which make him such a great jumper), elongated and highly mobile toes, etc.
He is fairly young, being about 22 years old, and he has been a hunter for roughly 5 years. He came into contact with the Hunter’s Guild at a fairly young age, and became something of an ambassador in the Academy and amongst scholarly circles, as one of the first properly licensed Moggi hunters.
Anyway, personality wise, Sable is actually quite shy! He’s not really one for social confrontation and often backs down if he thinks the conversation isn’t worth it. He rarely backs down from a hunt, though. If he does, it’s usually a tactical retreat.
