I would not be opposed to a visit up in the mountains. I always feel as though it’s been far too long since I’ve seen mountains, and I miss them. 

You should make the effort to come up. Even if we are not here we don’t mind other’s staying in the cabin. At the moment it’s still in construction mode but we’re not far away.

Becoming Spiderman | Skander & Cait

Early Saturday morning, Cait was rudely awakened by a small child jumping on her stomach. After the brief moment of being unable to breathe, she pretend glared at Jace, who had evidently decided that it was time for breakfast even though her alarm wasn’t set to go off for another hour. But still, she didn’t always have time to make full breakfasts for herself and Jace, so she got out of bed and piggy backed him into the kitchen where she made him cheesy scrambled eggs, ham, and hash browns. By the time he’d eaten and the dishes were done, it was about time for her to take him to daycare in order to be back home in time for Skander to pick her up for rock climbing. 

Before ten in the morning, Cait was dressed and ready to go. She wasn’t entirely sure what she should wear for rock climbing, but she figured she couldn’t go terribly wrong with leggings and sturdy sneakers. She was excited for today. She and Skander had been chatting about rock climbing for so long that it felt overdue at this point that he show her the ropes. It also wasn’t very often that Cait got to try something new like this nowadays. She tried to stay active but it was almost always stuff that she could easily do at the gym closest to her house which happened to have a kids club where Jace could hang out. Finally breaking out of that monotonous routine was something she was very much looking forward to. Not to mention that it was about time that she actually hung out with Skander in person.

Cait finished up the cup of coffee she’d made as she waited for Skander to arrive. She’d worked a late shift the night before but actually didn’t feel too tired. It was probably the excitement making her generally feel wired. But her morning coffee was like a routine that she needed to do every day, regardless of whether or not she actually needed the caffeine. She had her fingers crossed that she didn’t completely embarrass herself rock climbing, or inconveniently discover today that she had some long dormant fear of heights because that might put a damper on things. But even if rock climbing turned out not to be her secret hidden talent and she was in fact not Spiderman, this was exactly what she’d hoped for when she joined the site; to meet new people that brought positivity to her life. And she had liked Skander right off the bat.

On days that were particularly frustrating whether it be due to work, or any other reason it was easy to tell his mood through the music that Skander would play on his piano. Since playing piano was his own secret thing, it was the most personal thing as well, he could freely play out his emotions without fear of anyone judging him. It didn’t matter to him if he made any mistakes, it only mattered that he was able to transport himself away for just a moment from the worries that he had, and be able to focus on releasing emotions knowing that once he was finished he would feel much better.

Don’t worry, it’ll end eventually all those assignments. If it makes you feel any better, from my side, sometimes it can be equally as rough.

It makes me feel better to know the professors suffer too.

Do you play the guitar, or are you still trying to learn it? Either way, impressive.

I suppose so. Only for a few months, so I’m still learning.

I think that if I tried to sleep in a hammock I would either fall out of it, or I would break the hammock by my sheer size.

I’m surprised I didn’t fall out of it myself. Keila is always talking about how I toss and turn just on the couch. How tall are you if you don’t mind me asking?
