For at least a whole minute, the young vampire sat still on the arm of the couch, legs crossed as her hazel orbs gazed the control neatly placed in her lap in an inquisitive manner. The younger girl sitting right next to her with a stunning smile dancing across her lips seemed pleased with her company, analyzing the glee that brightened up the other’s pretty features, Serin couldn’t help but to let a soft smile spread across her reddish lips; that particular human found joy in such small occurrences that it crossed the line from sweet to downright adorable, not that the brunette would ever voice out that opinion.
However, that didn’t fell into a burden category, Aurora – or Roo as the younger woman had insisted in being called – surprisingly understood the vampire a lot better than the others children of the night, not that the younger was aware of the lack of heartbeats to warm up Serin’s icy pale skin, the naïve human was still been keep in the dark and if the brunette had any saying in the matter, it wouldn’t be changed any time soon.
The sweetness in the younger’s bright smile and the possibility of happiness shouldn’t be stripped away from a life that was only starting and had much more potential than the cursed creatures that carried their existence based on the accumulation of sins.
Perhaps, one could state the obvious while mentioning how the newborn vampire was growing soft and Serin would, of course, deny it vehement. Though deep inside, she admitted to herself only that maybe she didn’t minded having Roo close to her heart, the other was indeed one of the best companies she had ever found around the Island.
“Roo.” She murmured the younger’s name as she raised a delicate eyebrow towards the control in her lap, trying to catch the other’s attention out of the mess of rambles and mumbles she had converted herself on. “Roo.” The vampire tried to catch the other’s attention once again, though it only seemed to make the other raise her voice tone.
“Aurora! What the hell am I supposed to do with this?” The older grunted as she rose the remote, silently gesturing towards it with her head, refraining herself from throwing the said remote towards the younger in frustration. Sometimes, her lack of human memories caused a lot more issues than blessings in the vampire’s life, though Serin didn’t felt all too bothered by it, after all, everyday she learned something new which avoids the dull feeling most of her kind seemed to have.
And perhaps today’s lesson would be another self-control test or how to play another of Roo’s guiltily pleasures.
But, nonetheless, Serin realized that there was nothing sweeter than the so called friendship, and though she disliked sweets and anything related to it, Roo was starting to become her only exception.
