☾|| A Sky Full Of Stars - Roo & Jongup
"-and this is true! Whenever we can look at an object that has some smaller objects orbiting, like moons around planets, we can tell the weight of it. All we need is to know the speed of the other objects orbit and the size of the object in question. That way we-" He couldn't help but to overhear his college as he passed with a small group.
Today was open day at the conservatory and all the astronomy students were scattered through the building. Some were there for extra credits, others for a chance to show off, and a few for actually loving the task at hand. Jongup didn't quite know where he fit in there. He'd been informed that he'd be thrown out by the end of the week, but he was already hard up on cash and he wouldn't get his scholarship until next month. With a silent sigh, he resumed to his wandering.
The conservatory was surprisingly filled with people, the event nearing it's peak. During the day it had been presentations and lectures, which he had fully welcomed as a distraction from his problem. Now with dusk starting to rise, it was time to watch through expensive lenses the main focus of the day. The stars.
He didn't really do much but wonder around. Too shy to actually indulge in anything that involved talking with strangers. It wasn't that he didn't want to blabber about his passion or answer their curiosities. He just didn't really know how to put it in ways that would make people think he was interesting to tag along. It either came too flat or too eager. He had to reach an in between.
Yet his classmates were having none of it, and often threw stares and small jabs to see if he would just do his job already. One of them even came straight to him saying how tired she was from guiding and that he should replace her. He tried to skive but the girl persisted. Dropping her staff tag with him, she skipped off before he could say anything else.
And so here was with a map of the today's activities and that little tag that gave permission to anyone come to him. This wasn't what he had planned but now he just had to cope with it. He looked around, avidly avoiding large groups while trying to hide his tag. If he had to do this, he might just as well only focus on one person. Dealing with someone was easier than dealing with groups, their full attention would be on him and they wouldn't just wonder off expecting that he wouldn't notice. Furthermore if he could make them stick long enough until the end, he wouldn't have to speak with anyone else that night.
Slowly halting once he reached the entrance, he scans the hall looking for a fitting candidate. There were pairs, families and such but not one single soul. He would almost admit defeat until he spotted a petite girl nearing the entrance. Mustering some courage, Jongup strode towards her "H-Hey, do you need any, help?" To his dismay, it came more as a whisper than he intended.
