Staff of Sacanas and the mysteries surrounding it

Maybe its just me, but I find the potential history and backstory of the Staff of Sacanas In the MLP movie to be much more interesting than Tempest.

The “My Little Pony: The Movie” art book, in addition to going into the development of the film’s story, also explains that the Staff of Sacanas was stolen from an Arimaspi king in a deleted scene and that it may have been fashioned from a branch of the Tree of Harmony. Another deleted scene mentions that the staff was once owned by an older Scorpan.

So already there seems to be 3 separate origins for this staff, and I am very curious as to its potential ties to the Tree of Harmony, if this were, indeed, the case, it begs the question of why it was able to deplete the Alicorn Princesses of their magic, rather than bestowing it, as the ToH did for the mane 6 and their Rainbow Power. It could be possible that if a branch is taken from the tree, it is no longer able to be used in accord with harmony, though that throws a wrench in it being owned by Scorpan, who-if he had befriended the ponies, as “Twilight’s Kingdom” claimed, would not use the staff for malicious purposes.

And if it Had been owned by Scorpan, then how did Aramaspi get hold of it? Why would he have wanted it? And if Tempest had stolen the Staff of Sacanas from Aramaspi go then give it to the Storm King, how on earth did she know about it and what it did?

On top of that, being a possible branch from the Tree of Harmony, with a crystal at the tip could imply that this staff might have, in fact, been the missing 7th element that the fandom has speculated on for years. Though, it seems that the crystal on this twig is a lot bigger than the fossilized elements that were seen in episode 1 and 2 of FiM, and not yet attuned to a spirit of a pony that represents it, in order to take the shape of the pony’s symbol, the possibility remains.

There is much to speculate on this mysterious staff
