Il porte les trâces d'un séchage trop rapide, d'une toile non finie, le danseur, ayant rendu visite à Jawlensky dans son atelier, avant une représentation, en tenue de scène, grimé de blanc, lèvres rouges, les yeux charbonneux, au physique androgyne l'emporta aussitôt peint.
