SACR - CHAIN THREE

In 2022, I volunteered to be the necessary non-artist needed to run an event we called the Stony Art Chain Relay, and this past fall, with some new friends and some old, we ran it again! This event works by taking a piece of art that focuses on a unique character design for Steve and Tony and passing it, without comment, to the next person in line for them to reimagine it. This continues all the way down the line until you end up with a beautiful (and fascinating!) broken telephone of incredible artwork. All weekend, I'm going to be posting the full art collections from each of the six chains, in order, so you can admire their beautiful work. This story was an idea I had where the Japanese God of Rice, Inari is sent an offering of a human girl in exchange for a better harvest after several years of famine. And he’s a God so he can grow or shrink as he pleases. I haven’t named the girl, but I’m leaning towards Haruhi because the offering is made during the spring equinox and Haruhi means “Spring Day”.  I also made Inari a Fox as he is closely associated with them.

Inktober Day 4: Sandhill crane. These birds are MASSIVE - I think reaching up to 4′ in height. They also make a sound like a pterodactyl - seriously go listen to their rattling calls maybe off Youtube or something - so cool! I was dive-bombed by a mated pair once in the Arctic and it was terrifying lol.
