Hosted by @projectreachnyc we began a two day exchange by grounding our family who arrived in Communal Healing in relation to the Violence in our lives, we re-membered relationships that have been ruptured by Capitalism and Colonial control and examined how we have been tied to Colonization ourselves, looking firmly at our own shadows and the ways we perpetuate these cycles of relational violence in our families and communities. We invited our family to also root in the development of relational protocols for their work of boundaries, and support, how to be held and loved, how to be in walk honorably together. And we rooted all of this work into our bodies as we trained in the work of survival training relational to the violence that cis/trans/non-gender binary womxn experience. Our circle continues to strengthen in NYC and I am thankful everyday for the Sacred Work we rise in together. I vision often what Jamie and I can grow together so long as we stay vigilant and present to our relational struggles and use the very tools shared with our Sisters/Kapwa to root is in protocols that will support us to always return to seeing one another as partners in liberation work. This work we are doing is so important and Audre Lorde speaks to my spirit as I understand fully in this work that the more we rise in this purpose with all of our Survival Arts Family, the less and less I am afraid.
