SADDLE STAPLER PROJECT!

1 . Most of the pieces, some held together by tape.

2 . Gluing the saddle and putting cove molding into joint areas of the base and back to reinforce the joints.

3 . Assembling the saddle to the base and the platform to the back.

4 . Back with platform being glued into place.  The epoxy box and small sticks being used as a support to hold them here they are needed.

5 .  Getting ready to tear apart the old stapler.

6 . The plastic foot is off.

7 . Cut the base to length by using a Dremmel Tool with cut off disks.

8 . Using the Dremmel Tool to cut off the part of the stapler anvil that I need.

9 . Stapler anvil part glued into place with epoxy.

10 . Assembled Saddle stapler.

It will need to cure overnight and it needs a little sanding.  Otherwise, it is ready to go!

Saddle Stapler Project!!

The loose wooden block that the stapler is on will be a platform mounted to the upright on the right.

I will cut the stapler’s base off about at the hole on the right in its base.  The little staple folding anvil will be cut to a narrow strip and mounted to the middle of the saddle ridge.  The stapler will get mounted to the platform so that it will line up with the anvil on the ridge.

A folded book will go on the saddle and the stapler will always hit the spine of the book with this setup.

The whole thing needs to be epoxied together and some bracing put in to reinforce some joints.

With drying times for glue and some varnish, I expect to have it ready in 2 or 3 days.
