Piece of Cake to Bake a Pretty Cake | Sadie & Nash
Nash walked along the familiar path to the kitchens. He hummed to himself happily, there was an extra spring in his step on this particular day. Despite the small snag he had encountered yesterday, he somehow felt happy and light. At the moment, his journey to the kitchens was so he could meet Sadie. She had requested that they bake a cake together for someone. He wasn't sure who, though, he had an idea in mind.
"And there she is," said Nash upon his arrival, spotting the blonde Gryffindor and moving over to her. "Ready to bake this cake?" he asked moving past where she stood to tickle the pear on the portrait that hid the entrance to the kitchens. He was no good hand at baking, but really, how hard could it be? They simply needed to follow a recipe, right? Not to mention, the house elves were there and he was more than certain, they need only ask them for a hand if they struggled too much. One way or another, Nash knew he owed Sadie some time. It seemed he hadn't seen her as much as some of the others. And he had missed seeing her in places other than the Hospital Wing.
Brain Damage || Nathan and Sadie Mae
It was the quiet lull of the forestry in which his footsteps interrupted that kept his mind numb. This wasn't the first time he'd gone on one of his lengthy walks and ended up around the woods, and this probably wouldn't be the last. He'd never gone past the boathouse around the lake though, and that was pretty far away from the heart of Deacon Falls. Today, he kept walking though. He wasn't sure where his drive came from, because usually there'd be something in him telling him that something bad was going to happen; You're gonna do something you'll regret, Nathan. Go home. The filter seemed to be missing on this warm but almost-gloomy Friday.
A house came into view and he narrowed his eyes, confused. He thought the farthest house in Deacon Falls was the boathouse by the lake, and that was pushing city limits. This house was practically bending Deacon's gravitational pull around it. He would have never expected a house to be this far out, nor placed where it was. It looked abandoned, but there were signs of a person having recently been there. He winced silently as the hand he had rested on the tree next to him felt like it just got pinched. He took it off and saw it bleeding. The man licked his other hand and ran it across the bleeding one before closing his hand into a loose fist. He took another step forward out of confusion, the crunching of leaves under his feet. He silently cursed at them and bit his lip.
