It didn’t take too long to register a reaction. Honestly, Chadley had expected for the other to raise his voice, yet not as much as he had. Maybe he bit too hard, he wondered. But, of course, once the other shoved him away, his mouth opened a bit wider as he let go and gave two steps back.

“There are many rumors about you, Mr. Reno. One of those was that you are as masochistic as you are sadistic. I wanted to confirm this by my own experimentation, so I conducted this test. How do you feel? I can see a hint of impression, but is there anything else you are experiencing?” Chadley addressed him calmly, as if he had just conducted a normal checkup. In truth, that’s what he thought he was doing. 

“Oh! And I see you are on your way to eat something. The line has been taking especially long today, isn’t that so?” he made small talk while awaiting for the data contained on the reply he expected to receive soon.

“I’ve got the results back on the cellular degeneration experiments, and some of these are utterly insane.” Celene didn’t raise her head from the reports she was surveying, scrolling through the data on a small tablet as she turned away from her computer, talking away without any clue who it really was that had entered. “Compound ARX-2 is actually causing an increased decaying process, but it’s creating an energy output like I’ve never seen. Yo-”

She raised her head and faltered upon seeing the redhead standing there. “ooou are not who I thought you were. I’m sorry.” She hugged the tablet to her chest awkwardly. “Um. Did you need something?”

So, uh, I actually have a very limited palette when it comes to food that I will allow to enter my mouth. General rule: if the mere thought of it going into my mouth makes me gag, it’s not going in. Having said that, I do have strange combinations of normal food I like to eat - with my favourite being Brussels Sprouts and ketchup

“No, they’re fucking parrots!” Reno said, completely unaware they these were not, in fact, parrots. Parrots were a rainbow of color and this bird was not that. But it reminded him of a parrot for some reason. “You cannot tell me otherwise.” But he would admit that you couldn’t fucking trust a parrot because they had a habit of repeating shit back to people they didn’t need to repeat.

Shalua rubbed her temples painfully. Of all the dimwitted-- She snapped out of it and pointed a finger at him. 

“Do not get close to those birds. I will not be the one to bring you back to Tseng in a bloody handkerchief, Reno” she ordered.
