i have a HC that these two if they’re at the Bath house together they both bemoan the struggle of having extremely pale and fair skin to each other while potentially sharing a drink or two and idly chatting back and forth enjoying just being friends and also possibly teasing each other if the mood feels right. :3

☣ Have you ever rp’d with someone you knew for a fact was abusive but tried to give them a chance/to make up your own opinion on the roleplayer? Did they change or did you understand what people were talking about?

I have had a few cases of this. Below are two with two different endings.

The first one was when I first started role playing many years ago. I gave him so many chances it almost destroyed me, I turned away from my friends. I gave him complete control. It was one of the worst things I have ever let happen to me. And I say let because I could have walked away and I didn’t. I thought he would change if I was his friend if I was understanding enough if I supported him enough. He didn’t. Finally I got a clue and walked away. He didn’t want to change and I realized he was always going to be the person others including my best friend had said he was. I spent though a good year in this abusive RP relationship. It was a hard lesson learned. 

The second one however is a different story. I had made myself a promise after the first one mentioned above that I would never allow myself to be put into such a situation again.The guy himself, however, warned me he had a reputation. I look into it, went back and read the posts on Tumblr about him. Went through the past posts talking about how he was, how bad he was, etc. But I tend to be stubborn about making my own choices so I gave him a chance. It admittedly started out a bit rocky, he would do things that I knew wasn’t okay and I would point them out to him.  However, when I did he would work on that area. It was obvious he was trying hard to be a better person. In the end we had to go our separate ways due to his real life situation but he had proven to me he wasn’t the person he once was. We had some amazing role play together that I will always cherish. He proved to me that people can change.

The tears weren’t many, but they were enough to cause the Xaela to dab at her eyes in an effort to dry them. It was likely the stinging to her eyes would continue for a minute but she would try to ignore it. Usually she had a better grasp over such things but somehow, this time it had gotten the better of her. Once she felt composed enough, Rinalys would shake her head and reply.

“No, I should be the one apologizing. This really isn’t something that happens to me usually. I promise I’m not emotional most of the time. But really the onions aren’t helping it either.”
