Why I need Feminism

I need feminism because my boyfriend and I could have the exact same job, and he'd still get paid more.

I need feminism because an eleven year old girl got gang-raped by twenty guys, and the New York Times continuously brought up what she wore and how much makeup she used.

I need feminism because the hackers who exposed the Stubenville Rapists are getting more time in jail than the rapists themselves.

I need feminism because Jenna Marbles made a video shaming sluts, regarding them as "evolutionarily lower" than people who only sleep with one person.

I need feminism because there is a double standard regarding sexuality.

I need feminism because a "Right to Life" piece of propaganda I found tells young girls that it is "their responsibility to help boys your age who want to stay virgins avoid temptation by dressing modestly." Yeah. Because it's our responsibility to watch over them. Like mothers. How lovely.

I need feminism because games like RapeLay, where the premise is that you play a rapist who kidnaps and rapes a mother and her two daughters, one of whom is twelve, and keeps them as sex slaves, exists and is incredibly popular.

I need feminism because society teaches girls not to get raped, but doesn't teaches boys not to rape.

I need feminism. Women need feminism. Please. But we won't wait for men to change things. We can do it ourselves.
