Knockturn Alley is the den to every flavor of magical horror, and Pettigrew can feel it breathing down his neck as he trots past pelted door of pubs for the dodgiest of clientele and shops that do not give receipts. Lamenting his pathetically small size during the day, at the dusk in Knockturn Alley he senses the blessing of being able to become invisible just by pulling the collar over his face and adhering to paths close to the walls. No Disillusionment Charm needed, yet he casts it anyway. In moments like this, he knows he can kill for something like Invisibility Cloak.
At The Dragon’s Breath, he is known as Little Billy, known for his shortness since no one could ever tell his face apart from the others. The place is no better (certainly not) nor worse than any other on the street, Pettigrew chose it for lacking in patrons on holidays. Inaudibly, he thanks Merlin for Mar being there already. Saves him the trouble of claiming the seat, he’s never been good at it even in the Great Hall of Hogwarts.
Scurrying nimbly between larger bodies, he could appear a mere child. Sliding into the booth opposite her, he lowers his collar, and crooked little teeth glisten in the candle light.
“Th-thank you for coming, Mar. Have you ordered already? I s-suppose I can treat you to uh…” he produced a handful of sickles from his pocket, “… one firewhiskey.”
