I am a Citizen of Bangladesh 🇧🇩 This is a plea for help. On 29th of July 2018 school going students were killed by a reckless bus driver. The students protested with slogans on the same bus stand. Since then All students of Bangladesh are protesting for safer roads and more strict regulations. Their intention was never to harm even a single person. Neither it is now. But today POLICE AND PEOPLE OF CHATRO LEAGUE tortured students with tear shell, they beat students brutally . The students are trying to defend themselves with sticks and tree branches that they've found on the streets. Hundreds of students have been injured and dying severly. The girl's are being molested . Internationally renowned photographer Dr. Shahidul Alam, Managing Director, Drik, was forcibly abducted from his house in Dhanmondi, Dhaka after 10pm on 5 Aug 2018 after his interview with Al Jazeera ( must watch that video . He has cleared everything there ) . According to security guards of the apartment building and other eyewitness reports, there were roughly 30 to 35 men, in plain clothes, who claimed to be from the Detective Branch (DB), who went upstairs, brought down Dr Alam, who was screaming as he was forcibly pushed into the waiting car, a HiAce, with the words Popular Life Insurance, written on the outside. They taped up the CCTV camera, and took away the CCTV camera footage. The guards were manhandled and locked up. His partner Rahnuma Ahmed, was in a neigbouring flat, raced downstairs on hearing the scream, but the car carrying him and two other cars waiting outside, sped away. 6th August 2018 The police and pro-government activists as well as members of the youth wing of the ruling party called Chatra League has attacked on several renowned universities like North South university, East West university , American International University of Bangladesh , BRAC etc . The attackers used tear shell's , hot water tank , rubber bullets etc on the unarmed STUDENTS which is totally insane ! The footage given above is a very tiny part of the attack on North South university students which is situated at a very restricted private residential area called Bashundhara Residential Area ( don't know where the restrictions are today ) . After protesting for days, these beautiful, wonderful children finally improved the road conditions in our country, and even included an emergency lane something that we couldn't even fathom just last year. After doing so much for our people, which our government could not accomplish to this day, even though it is their ONLY job, all they demanded from the government was their support in regulating licenses and implementing basic road rules that we as humans, have a basic right to. Everything was finally looking great until groups were sent (including the police) to attack these beautiful selfless children. Is this their definition of justice? It seems that our people do not even have access to basic human rights let alone road safety. They are filtering all Bangladeshi Facebook posts and even stated that Facebook might be banned by tonight so that other countries and international platforms don't even get a whiff of how inhumanely things are being "handled".
