That would certainly be a surprise, considering the current direction the World Union seemed to be going with past bounties the Glowing Dawn had tackled. And, in a way, maybe it could even be to the benefit of the world Kyo wished to bring forth, where Digimon and humans could coexist in peace. But...

...This was Klay Arslan who was saying it. One of the very pinnacles of the Cleaner world, who was partnered to an Ultimate level Digimon. What did the other have to gain from such a thing, he wondered...? Kyo had to admit...He was a little curious. And so, he'd decide to entertain the other's question.

Just for a bit.

"Let's say I were to humor the scenario you might be suggesting, Mr. Klay Arslan. Personally speaking, I've got no real interest in trading stock. I don't have the skillset you'd need for that sort of thing, nor do I have the money with the living expenses I currently choose to incur. But, a publicly facing philanthropist like yourself would have no trouble with making such a living. In fact, if you'll permit me to think such, my family and I might even stand to benefit from going under Public Security and the Ministry of Civil Protection with the possibility of Digimon being made public knowledge. But, that does beg a few questions regarding those of us who are currently Cleaners...What would become of our bounties? Would we have them pardoned, and allowed to live normal lives? Coexisting with Digimon? Or, would we be shackled to the World Union and the Ministry of Civil Protection in some other way by being assigned to public security? As you no doubt recall, I was once one of you Five Stars...I have to wonder how you would benefit from such a system, as well. And, most importantly of all...How would the Digimon themselves be seen by the general public?"

Thirty minutes passed. A ping sounded from Klay's computer, a reply. In it there was a video, just as Klay had asked. It wasn't of the "Digimental," though.

In the video, an Andromon has the vitality sucked from it by many, writhing tendrils. It collapses into data and a shivering MetalKoromon.

The email read thusly:

"I dunno if you thought that would be cute, but that program was terrified when he realized what you'd sent him into. Think better of it next time, if you want this partnership to pan out. Video of the Digimental incoming.

I'll stay in touch.

True to his word, another video arrived soon after.

In this recording, a tamer, pixelated for privacy, holds out a black orb. It seemed to leak some kind of ooze, which dripped off it in clumps before thinning out, then eventually vanishing into smoke. He calls out, his digimon partner responding in kind.

Digivolution begins, that telltale glow overwhelming his Patamon. Suddenly, however, it turned black, then colors appeared like a swirling oil slick. The egg shape taken during the change warbled and contorted, corrupting until it shattered. The name of what came out is unintelligible, as are the words of the tamer as he cries out in fear.

Well, this was mortifying. Why was Klay Arslan even here? ...Perhaps Kyo should have burned the dolls, like Cougarmon wanted. That Mummymon's trick was biting Kyo big time, right now...And worse yet, he was sweating, just a bit.

Thankfully, Cougarmon would pipe up from his cat bed, grumbling quietly to himself. This is why he wanted the dolls burned.

"Save yourself and your sanity and don't ask. Let's just say Kyo made a surplus of weird dolls."

They are! And they're vacationing. Kinda hard to find because after Cyrus' little stint they immediately disowned him and ducked out of public view.

You could punch them, but they'll probably sic seccurity on your ass.

first of all, what fashion style lmao?? yuko was probably buying his damn clothes until the day he moved his ass out. :') i'm not even kidding, sadly...fucking loser.

context first...

for realsies, though. throughout all of 01 / 02 we see taichi mostly in basic bitch athleisure wear. this shifts somewhat in tri, and i was a big fan of the cargo pants and black boots combo, that was cute af. but it's still very outdoorsy, giving the implication that taichi is still a very active person, which he is. there's a shift again in his clothing during kizuna, which felt a lot more casual than his previous wardrobes. it's still basic as all hell compared to say yamato, who has always had a more fashionable edge to him. ( those loafers in beyond?? stunning. werk yamato. ) the white tee, blue shirt, and black trousers combo felt like a step forward for taichi---then they stuck him back in an ugly blue and white / brown shorts combo again. so, i reiterate...what style? he's so basic it hurts. and we don't talk about his look in beyond because it's basically 01 / 02 taichi all over again. there's almost zero evolution.

i like to believe that after university he starts to carve out more of a varied wardrobe for himself. though, i don't think he'd do it by himself because he'd end up crippled by indecisiveness. so, i feel like he'd most likely enlist the help of mimi. he could ask yamato, sure...but i also feel like he'd be intimidated af by his wardrobe. yama is way more clean cut and sharp compared to taichi, who is very much more of a casual dresser. mimi is intimidating in her own way, but i feel like he'd vibe more with her choices. cute splashes of colour he's never considered before, and i think yellow ends up becoming quite an important part of his wardrobe, mostly in the form of sweaters and t-shirts. he'll always be a sneaker / trainer wearer, so those certainly remain, but they're more varied now instead of ye olde blue and orange combo. more greens and yellows or plain white.

pants wise. i think he gets into jeans more here, particularly in stone and acid wash variants. he's got cake, it's time to show it off. he wears a variety from relaxed styles to slim fits and standard straight leg. though, he probably owns a baggy pair for when he's feeling it.

he's older now and he grows fond of softer colours and tones. that being said, he'll still be found in a sweatpants and tee combo on any given day. just because he's started to evolve doesn't mean he'll abandon his bread and butter altogether. it's comfy and soft and gives him easy movement. and taichi always values comfort in his clothing materials. if he finds it too harsh or rigid, he simply won't wear it.
