Sugar Apple Fairy Tale: Shall Fen Shall [ISTP]
MBTI Type: ISTP Introverted - Sensing - Thinking - Perceiving
Introverted Thinking (Ti): Shall is logical, analytical, blunt, detached, and unemotional. He has an intense need to deeply analyze and understand the world and himself; and posseses a subjective logical framework in which he weights everything upon and that he'll never break. Ex: He didn't accepted to be Anne's friend because she owns his wing and is her slave. (It's illogical to be friend of someone you own.) In the LN it's shown that he assesses people and situations immediately upon encountering them. He's constantly trying to figure out other people's motivations and the reasons behind their actions. Shall thinks that: Anne treats fairies as people because she feels lonely, Lafalle's real motivation is revenge, not freedom, etc. He has great deductive reasoning skills too, like when he figured out the truth about Lafalle. Shall takes the most logical approach to problem solving: Upon seeing Anne in the slave market he told her to buy him so he could steal his wing back. (This is a very Ti way of doing it, by thinking of a way to hack the circumstances in his favor.) And sold himself to Bridget to find Anne's sugar.
Extraverted Sensing (Se): He's a skilled warrior that enjoys the adrenaline of a good fight, observant of his environment and quick to leap into action when needed. Calm under pressure and confident in his ablities, able to improvise and think on his feet, like when he left the sugar trail (Ti-Se). He's comfortable living in the moment travelling with Anne, and is very physically affectionate with her. It's natural for him to constantly hug, kiss, and hold Anne's face.
Introverted Intuition (Ni): He's insightful, constantly reflects on many topics, and has a sixth sense that he relies on: he accurately discerned Lafalle's past without any clue of it. Shall is laser focused on keeping Anne safe and makes it his mission to protect her forever. But, this is also his blindspot function, he was so focused on protecting Anne from Lafalle that he didn't foresee him threatening her friends to get to her.
Extraverted Feeling (Fe): The source of his low emotional intelligence is his inferior Fe, it's his weakest and most underveloped function, he's highly unaware of his feelings which is a common Ti-dominant problem. He enjoys riling Cat up because it improves his mood, which indicates immature Fe. He doesn't understand or recognize his emotions at all, and takes a very long time to discover his feelings for Anne. He generalizes that all humans are the same until he meets Anne and slowly starts to change his pespective on people. However, he has a warm and caring side that he shows to Anne mostly by acts of service: supporting, protecting, and helping her solve her problems (Ti-Fe). He likes to feel needed by Anne and puts her needs above his own. At the beggining he was cold, uncaring, and extremely hateful towards humans, but by being with Anne and Mithril and caring for each other, and eventually interacting with Anne's friends, he starts to become more sympathethic towards people (Fe development).
*In the LN Shall is in a Ti-Ni loop: A loop happes when the person bypasses the auxiliary function and becomes looping between the first and tertiary function. As a result he's disconnected from the external world. He’s obsessed with overanalyzing everything and can’t make sense of his feelings. He’s locked inside of his mind. Certainly, he’s an introvert and needs to engage with his inner world of thoughts, but he’s too detached with the outside world which is unhealthy. Loops happen under heavy stress, he's been a slave for 70 years, so obviously he wouldn’t want to engage with the outside world. Fortunately, he found Anne and she has influenced him positively. Shall has great potential for character development.
