Absolutely agree – it’s wild the way some people keep bashing the prequels year after year for some relatively minor thing like the sand monologue or whatever, and then defend this abomination.
The problems with the Disney trilogy aren’t minor annoyances or issues with the execution, the problem is that the entire story is fundamentally wrong. Nobody had any kind of actual story to tell, or any idea how to tie the new stuff into the existing story or how to create new heroes that continue the legacy of the old heroes without ruining the character arcs and accomplishments of the previous generation. So now we get this absolute mess of a trilogy that makes everything that happened in eps 1-6 completely pointless. It’s absurdly bad.
