anakin's final selfish choice to sacrifice the jedi order in order to save padme was not a natural & ordinary thing for him, but rather an insane overcorrection of a lifetime of selfless choices that left his dreams abandoned and his mother dead

I forget the post but the idea was Anakin's begetting sin wasn't arrogance, but deference.

He goes from a slave child that will cheerfully argue with his owner that could blow him up and makes him pilot on death races.

He hides building another pod race from him and helps these outsiders deceive him in order to get the parts they need and risks his life in the process.

In the final two movies, that spark has been dragged out of him.

Anakin is constantly apologizing and ignoring his own instincts in order to act like a 'proper' Jedi.

He ignores the prophetic dreams about his mother until it is far too late. He only goes to Tatooine and later Genosis because Padme tells him she is going whether the Council agrees or not.

In RotS, the Council and Palpatine put him in an impossible test of loyalties while his dreams have started up again.

Anakin is desperate and despairing.

He has been pushed so far to the edge that it is a wonder he didn't fall earlier.
