This certainly limits his number of friends, and certainly quadrant-mates. However, he keeps the minuscule circle of his friends tight knit and tends to be a bit clingy to them at times. Honani is a handful to be around, and is an emotionally and physically draining individual.

Zombies, action and mysteries | Nathan and Sage

Nathan was really glad that he could stay with Jenn now that he had no where to go to and no one left. She was really fun to be with and absolutely everything he could ever wish for, but it wasn't easy to get used to having someone around you most of the time. He was a loner till he found his old friend and they still weren't around 24/7 like Jenn, that's why she was annoying sometimes. Sage, a girl he met earlier invited him over to hers for a few movies to watch and some pizza to eat and he was actually glad she did. Well, he more or less invited himself, but he didn't mind stepping up to people. Nathan was in fact quite lonely in Jenn's house. He didn't know anyone out of this town besides her and she managed to get him back into school for right after this break, so he needed to make some friends, so he wouldn't be the freak from first day on. Nathan had taken Jenn's map of the small town, where they were living, so he would find the house of this girl and he was actually pretty excited about seeing her. 

Sage seemed to him like a person who could like him, even in a town like that. There seem to be only arrogant bitches and cocky snobs and he hated guys like that. They were likely to judge about him before they even know him and from the outside he wasn't exactly what fits in. Nathan's hair wasn't proper cut, too long again and curly, his jeans got holes and his knees were scratched and even if there was snow falling he didn't wear a jacket because he had none. Jenn was planning to get him some new stuff, but he had to wait till the stores were open again and she got time. As he made his way through town people who passed him wouldn't look in his face directly and even changed to the other side of the streets. Nathan sighed and took a drag of his cigarette. It has to be just down the road, well if the map was right. Nathan took another drag, let the cigarette fall down on the floor and ground it out. There it was. The sight next to the door bell was 'Smith', so he guessed to be right and pressed the little button.
