“Oh! Hello there!“
“Do you even care?”
That was quite a question, wasn't it? Servant paused and tilted his head to the side as he considered how to respond. It was hard to blame Nagisa for his reaction to the honeyed words. After all, why should he care? It wasn't as if the children had been particularly kind to him.
But while it was true that his primary concern was seeing hope overcome Monaca's despair, he couldn't say he didn't feel anything for the kids. They weren't bad kids. They'd just been handed an extremely unfortunate lot in life which he could relate to in a way.
"Maybe it's hard to believe, but I do care. It's not like I'm rooting for you guys to fail anyway. I want you to do your best. But that means you should take care of yourself."
“I don’t think you understand. Need me to clarify?”

{{ L }} "Fery vell, perhaps I vasn't paying too much attention to vat jou vere saying ze first time." The huntress sighed wiping her round lenses clear of dirt or dust.
@sagebullet liked for a starter!
She worried about him.
Komaru worried about all of them, really.
Throughout her journey Komaru felt she had gone through nearly every possible range of emotion that she could for the Warriors of Hope. Yet after having come to learn of the lives they had led, having read the very words of their parents, seeing what the adults held towards them....it was worry above all that she felt for these children who had been treated so cruelly by the ones meant to protect them.
The teen could certainly understand that one’s background could not excuse what these children had done, but at this point she also felt that enough lives had been lost. Call her a bleeding heart, call her naïve, but she intended to do everything that she could to protect them all. Her promise to save both the adults and children of Towa City was one she meant to keep as best as she could, and that included the Warriors of Hope.
She had already spoken with Jataro, Kotoko and Masaru but Nagisa was still being treated for his injuries. Komaru had been pestering the doctors constantly to let her see him, but it was only until he was deemed fit for company that they finally gave her the okay.
She knew he needed rest but...Komaru was secretly also afraid that some of these doctors might decide to take care of him in a different way. Perhaps it was wrong of her to think that way, but sometimes you couldn’t be sure which of the adults were reasonable, and which were still set on vengeance.
They were allowed their privacy, and with a deep breath, Komaru knocked on the door, and opened it slightly so she could poke her head in.
“Nagisa? May I come in?”

-- Perhaps playtime wasn't the right choice.
Just by the way the younger male responded nearly sent chills down his spine, there was just something about this child that unsettles him. Perhaps it's because he's behaving much more maturely? Either way, he was simply not used to children, and he will likely never will either. Mature or not, Shuichi was still a bit concerned for Nagisa, hence why he came back once more.
He’s still a child in the end.
" ...H-Huh? I'm sorry, what? "
Disregarding the degrading comments, what caught his attention was the last thing he said. Servant? As much as he wants to believe he's joking, it wouldn't make sense for the child to suddenly joke about it now. Especially with that tone.
" And wh-why would you want a demon to be your servant? "
There was no way he would be able to talk his way out of this. --

“you’re somebody who can’t protect yourself right now!”
she hadn’t meant to reach out and grab his arm, but the moment he’d moved to leave, she’d done it. there’s no taking it back now. she holds onto him, desperation in eyes that are wide with fear. chiaki doesn’t even know his name, and she’d seen that horrible TV broadcast... but still. but still.
“i’m tired of seeing people die...! those monokumas aren’t on your side anymore. they’ll rip you to pieces!”
everyone she’s tried to protect in this damn city has met the same fate. she couldn’t even manage to meet up with naegi’s sister, her reason for being here in the first place. she’s been hounded by monokumas at every corner, some of them even landing hits, leaving bloody trails across her skin that she’s had to patch by herself.
she’s not going to stand there and let a child go through the same thing.
