at first, i think ignis fits into the role of 'temporary retainer' quite easily. though, i think he would be surprised to find out how differently she treats her retainers compared to noctis. he never has to pick up after her, she manages her own schedule. laundry is always folded and organized for him to take up. she is punctual to meals, and allows him to choose his own menu. she is very vocal and appreciative of the work that ignis does, and this respect transcends to critiquing him when deemed necessary. she understands ignis takes pride in his work, and on the rare occasion when she spots something that could be done differently or more efficiently, she will comment about it.
i think their company is one of silent comfort. conversation is sparse but meaningful, and there is no pressure to drag onto one. i could see them independently reading together, or sharing a pot of coffee.
he will never use her nickname, as she will never use his. they have a shared level of respect for each other, as well as their respective stations.
i think eventually ignis could become lunafreya's confidant, in a similar way to gentiana. her highest level of respect and trust, to be able to speak about her feelings freely with him.
they share the same taste. decor, fashion, food, decorum. at times, they think so similarly they do not have to communicate at all.
