I fall backwards out of my bedroom and down
It's only darkness for a few seconds, but I then begin to see things. I'm free falling towards a grid of squares, seemingly boundless.
As things come more into focus I see the lines of the squares are multiple thin, semi clear perpendicular lines, in groups of two or three bunched with larger gaps between.
There are also many small circles present, of the same transparent quality as the lines.
These are all in a muted color somewhere between yellow, blue, green and beige. When Ive thought I've reached the surface I do not touch it, and the surface turns out to be farther down. This happens two or three times.
But I do reach the surface, and now float on it like water. I'm in a room which is large but not boundless. Roughly the size of a elementary school gymnasium. The walls and pool are all tile of the same uncertain color.
I swim on the surface. I row for a moment; I breaststroke for another.
I try to swim below the surface, and fall rather quickly to the floor of this body of water.
I'm struck by fear of being unable to breathe, or surface for breathe, and quickly reassure myself that is not a worry here.
I let out a breath and am at ease.
