"Look, he just -- he gets busy, okay?" Sage interjected between her friends' bickering. She knew they meant well; nitpicking and scrutinizing every negative trait about her boyfriend in their efforts to make her feel better about the lack of his appearance tonight. But it wasn't going to make him magically appear, not when he was swamped with work. As unfortunate as it was to admit, she was quite used to it by now. The only thing that held her over was the promise that in a few months, he would be guaranteed a promotion -- that meant a raise; that meant an engagement ring. "Rag on Jason all you want, he's just 'securing our future'," she quoted her boyfriend as if that would add weight to her argument though it only fuelled the girls' judgement. Sliding out of the booth and raising her hands in surrender, Sage excused herself to get another drink from the bar -- goodness knows she would need plenty more to get through the night. Tapping her fingers on the bar as she waited for the bartender to fix her a martini, Sage couldn't help but notice the brunette standing by her. "Hey," she greeted, brows furrowing as she studied the girl's face. Ah, she's seen her before. "I know you. You go to the laundromat on 22nd. I see you there all the time -- you have that mint coloured basket,".
